Logo Design: Swan City Swannas

This is the Pokemon Swanna for which the team is named.

The client chose this one though requested I change the font color to what is seen in the final.
Program Used: Illustrator
A friend of mine commissioned me to create a logo he could use for his competitive online Pokemon team. He provided me with the team name, a reference image, and a previous logo to which he asked that I match the style.
The first image is the final logo, followed by the reference image. The third image is the previous logo which provided the style he was going for.
I also included 3 options I provided to my friend for feedback. He chose the third option and suggested the changes in the text that are seen in the final.

My initial sketches
Program Used: Illustrator
I was commissioned by Global Construction Management & Consulting. The client suggested a globe inspired design that was vibrant, forward thinking, and gave off a positive "quick" vibe.
From my initial sketches I was encouraged to pursue a design with the house in the middle since the company does renovation type jobs. The client was very enthusiastic when I provided the lined globe idea and requested the blue of blueprints.
I ended up providing multiple final variations for the company to choose from.
Logo Design: ALN Photography

Program Used: Photoshop
I wanted to create an original logo for my photography and Instagram pages. I started by looking at font and font combinations, then I got the idea for the brush stroke through the middle and experimented with the style and color. The last image is the one I decided to use.
The Ocean Spray Campaign

Programs Used: Photoshop, After Effects
My Creative Strategy II class was divided into teams that we would treat like mini advertising agencies. Our client was the brand Ocean Spray and we were given a goal and resources. We created the entire campaign from the Situation Analysis to the Creative Brief.
The campaign my group came up with was "Make it crand," inspiring consumers to enjoy life's little moments.
These are the screenshots from our final presentation. The advertisement concepts were brainstormed by the team. To create each of these ads I researched images and edited them together. I was also responsible for the presentation layout of these pages.
The video was made by myself on my own time in order to practice motion graphics animation. The information comes from this Ocean Spray project but the script and voice over, in addition to the layouts and the animation, are my own.
Design Project: Ordinal Essence

All of the cards printed out.

When the cards are lined up in order (top: 1-7, bottom: Key, 8-13) the backs will form this image.

The cards and the box were measured so that they would easily fit together.

This is the sheet that I printed from. This is cards 1-9. Every card has a word incorporated into the design that is related to the number the card represents.

On this sheet are cards 10-12 where 11 is the Jack and 12 is the Queen. This also includes the box template I designed. The colors on the strips of the box are the main colors on the cards. Also, the front and back galaxy designs are the same designs that are on the backs of the first and last cards in the suit.

This is the sheet I printed from. It includes card 13, which is the King, and the front of the Key card.

The backs of cards 1-9. Each rectangular piece had to be placed in reverse order so that when put together in order and flipped around the image would be correct.

This is the box cut out, folded, and glued.

This is one example of the many collages I made when designing the individual cards. This specifically is for Card 6 in which there are 6 die, each with a different 1-6 number on its most foreground face. These collages helped me to easily compare characteristics of the word such as fonts, placement, and opacity. I would also use these for color and certain design elements; in this case I compared an outline of the die to no outline, as well as the word placement, size, and color.

Another example of the collages I created for card design. Here I'm looking at word design for cards 1, 2, and 5.
Program Used: Photoshop
This project is a single suit I designed for a deck of cards. Each card's imagery is based on the symbolism for the number that the card represents. There's a word or phrase on each which ties together the image and the number the card represents. For example, on the number one card there is a single light bulb with the word "brightest."
Since the fronts of the cards represent the typical number range in a deck of cards, then the backs of the cards could theoretically represent infinity. In this suit, infinity is represented by the galaxy. When the cards are lined up correctly the backs form that complete image.
I also designed the box in Photoshop which I printed, cut, and folded. The white card is the key card I designed which has every number and briefly explains the symbolism, providing some insight as to why I chose certain images or words. I calculated its dimensions and chose the side colors as representative of the cards color palette. The galaxy images on the front and back are the backs of the first and last cards.
Click HERE for larger images of each card and an in-depth look at the symbolism.

This is the unedited image. In order to make it fill the circle, I cut slices, copied them, and moved them to fill the space. The seems between the slices were then smoothed and erased.

Hero's Journey
Program Used: Powerpoint, Photoshop
This assignment was to use Powerpoint to "Create an 18x24 inch poster publicizing a 'hero' designer or design firm." I decided to choose designer Joe Duffy for his work in company branding and design.
Because of the limitations of the program, each circle of text had to be manually spaced in order to fit into the circle and each photograph was edited from a rectangular shape to more accurately fill the space.

What's Your Issue?
Program: Photoshop
The goal of this assignment was to select an issue and design a poster in photoshop that will encourage college students to head to the polls. The issue I chose was voting rates among college students. The main photograph in the poster is an original photograph that I took of myself. I also took a picture of my "I Voted" sticker which I then photoshopped in after stylizing the main image and flipping it so that the portrait would be on the left. I added the text and right justified it for visual interest.

Nail Art Flier
Program Used: InDesign
This project assignment was to choose or create a company for which we had to design a flier for a product, real or made up. I chose to use the existing company ThinkGeek to design a flier for a product that I created: ThinkGeek Nail Art. Every image in this flier, besides the ThinkGeek logos, is original. The hand in the image is a photograph of my own hand which I then edited, applied filters to, and finally painted the nails with various "geeky" symbols including Star Trek, Batman, Star Wars, Zelda, and Harry Potter.
